I've been teaching music at St. Joseph's Elementary (Grade 6) for the past month, and still cannot manage to control one rambunctious child. The class will be singing, and he will be shouting at the top of his lungs, trying to get attention (or annoy me personally). I try to ignore it, but today I had enough. I removed him from the class and sent him to the library to complete other work, noting that he was far too immature to withstand the responsibilities of music class. I felt great! The rest of the lesson went smoothly, the students sounded like angels, and we were ahead of schedule! Afterwards, he apologized to me and promised that he would never disrupt the lesson again, and that he was actually very upset that he had to miss out.
